For Ricardo, Rico Vino began not as a brand idea, but as a personal one. After years in hospitality, he set out to create the waiter’s knife he had always wanted to use himself. One shaped by real experience, constant refinement and a deep respect for craftsmanship. His approach remains personal in every sense: hands-on, detail-driven and built around making something that truly works.
What began as a personal idea became a years-long process of development, trial and refinement. Across six years and around thirty prototypes, Ricardo kept reworking the TK-1 in pursuit of a waiter’s knife that felt more natural in the hand, more precise in use and better with time. The result is a piece shaped by persistence, innovation and careful hand assembly in the Netherlands.
The TK-1 is dedicated to the memory of my father, Theo Kreutz. Thank you for believing in me, for inspiring this journey and for being at the heart of it from the very beginning. – Ricardo
